No, really.

Some stuff is different…

That’s probably going to keep happening. If I change something you don’t like, let me know. I’m not saying that I’ll change it back, of course, but I’d like to know.

In other news – I’d really like to say thanks to all of you that have sent me messages and emails cheering me on and checking on me.

Turns out I have Recurrent Idiopathic Scleritis. It’s not great news… in fact, it pretty well sucks. But, it’s only in the one eye at this point, it’s not the kind of Scleritis that’s going to kill me, and I’m not going to lose any significant vision any time soon.

So, thanks again everyone – it’s really meant a lot. Plow on, eh? *smiles*

As someone with a similar illness (connective tissue disease), I have to say getting a diagnosis like that does indeed suck but at the same time, isn’t it good to at least know what’s wrong? It was for me, even though the diagnosis came with a barrage of medications that all taste like paint.

On a more comic-related note, I love your font! Are you lettering by hand or do you have a custom font for your comic? Either way, it’s very cool.

It is indeed good to at least know what’s wrong. I would have preferred something like “Hey! You’ve got this thing in your eye! We’ll just take it out and you’ll be fine.” but it’s better than “Hey! We’re going to have to take that eye out… you weren’t using it, right?” *grins*

Thanks for the font love! I’m lettering by hand now – I used a brush on this comic, but I’ve moved on to the “pointy stick” method described on the Comic Tools blog: http://tinyurl.com/yzf2pa2

Ah, yes. I remember you mentioning this on The Webcomic Beacon. It’s an interesting idea, and one I’ve now inked to from The Webcomic Builder. If I inked by hand, I’d give it a try myself; as it looks like it gives very nice results.

Once I’m more confident with some of the non-traditional inking tools (everything from pointy sticks to toothbrushes) I’d love to write up an article for you.

Also, I’ll be sure to let you know when the first “pointy stick” comic goes live – this comic and the next one were lettered with a standard brush.
